Using the GTD Methodology Template in Notion
Step 1: The Inbox
The Inbox is the central hub of your GTD template. All new tasks and ideas should be registered here. When a new task comes to mind, simply jot it down in the Inbox.
Step 2: Task Organization
After registering your task in the Inbox, you can organize it by following these steps:
- Add a due date to specify when a task should be completed.
- Assign a project to a task to categorize it and make it easier to manage.
- Use the "Delegate" column to indicate if the task depends on another person.
- If a task is recurring, make sure to specify the recurrence details.
- Click on the checkbox (tick) on the left of the task in the Inbox to mark it as organized.
- Once marked as organized, the task will move to one of the following panels below based on its due date, project, delegation status, or recurrence.
Step 3: Panels
Your tasks will automatically appear in different panels based on their attributes:
- Today: Tasks due for today.
- Tomorrow: Tasks scheduled for tomorrow.
- This Week: Tasks due within the current week.
- Next Week: Tasks due in the upcoming week.
- On Hold (Delegated): Tasks that have been delegated to someone else and are pending their action.
- Someday (No Date Added): Tasks with no specified due date, ideal for tasks you might want to consider in the future.
- Recurring Tasks: Tasks that repeat on a regular basis.
